Because these guys ripped other companies off to create their fortunes. Steve Jobs ripped of Xerox for the mouse and interface, and Bill Gates ripped off Apple for what they developed out of Xerox's stuff.

The underlying theme of the movie is "Good artists copy, great artists steal"
