Sofia (2012)Synopsis:
Sofia is a sixteen year old girl who's poise and sophistication belie her innocent youth. Raised in New York City by her wealthy, lonely, immigrant mother, Ana, Sofia appears unaffected despite Ana's tendency to disappear for several days at a time. But now Ana has not disappeared to one of her extravagant vacations; she has been imprisoned by the state and is facing horrid allegations. Instead of outrage, Sofia experiences a deep, despairing sense of emptiness. She takes all that she knows about herself and her life and condenses it, determined to squish into something that is portable and small.
